I published a post about three years ago when I first met this amazing artist, performer, dancer, acrobat, and yoga instructor, Michelle Dortignac, having been introduced to another fabulous way to bend, shape, lift and work the body with Aerial Yoga. Her practice and business has expanded greatly and as I still practice yoga, I remain a student of finding the gentle way to release to the pull of gravity with suspension and aerial yoga.

After you feel comfortable moving through the Pilates RollUp, Corkscrew, Teaser and Jackknife and find ease and grace with Balance Controls, you may be looking for another way to use that strong powerhouse with a little more action and activity. TRX Flow is my answer to many students that want to kick it up a notch.

As we all grow older, everything takes just a little bit more effort, a little more time and requires a lot more grace. Most of our “parts” hurt, ache or are in constant need of attention, lotion or rubbing just to keep the blood flow. That’s the effort required. The grace kicks in when we grow comfortable with the person and body we have become and live in it fully. Caridad Pita, a Cuban-born, 69-year-old woman is one of those graceful, elegant souls that has grown comfortable in her own skin.
I did it in January and after the food overloads of the past holiday (you know you over-ate everything) as well as preparation for making your steps lighter to spring into the next season, does anyone want to join me for another Vitality Cleanse?
There are two basic things we all use daily, rigorously and religiously, food and water. Duh!? The question is what is the quality of your food and water we get and use to assist, support and fuel the activity and movement of your body thru the day. I eat a lot of protein, fruit and veggies and drink a lot of vegetables and fruit juices. Hell, I feel like I don’t have a choice. I am a movement junkie. It is how I make my life and my living. I know I am modeling actions and behaviours for the people

Julie and Sindy, are a terrific twosome working together as partners in Pilates. They have been doing so for exactly twenty sessions. Just enough time to realize the the value, worth and wonder of the Pilates method and become completely hooked to go another round. We all know the Pilates adage, ”In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a different body”.
On the eve of the HotYoga MeetUp I am orchestrating, (scheduled for Saturday, January 21st at 2:30pm, HotYogaNJ) Brooke Silar, tweeted a good article that she called “more fodder in the Yoga vs. Pilates ‘debate’” and then went on to state, two great tastes that taste great together, why choose.” I whole-heartedly agreed, re-tweeted the post and found it ironic that the very conversation was held with a male client during our reformer workout earlier in the day. He, btw, is coming to the HotYoga Meet Up!

Week One of 2012 done and with it, my 30-day nutrient juice supplement is also complete! What a winning choice that has been. My apologies if I sound like a darn commercial, it’s just that when I really like something, I tend to talk about it with the fervor of a zealot. When it pertains to health and fitness related items, I am a zealot for the pure things. The fresh press juices I have found (and now have delivered to the studio) are just that, simple pure goodness.

Whoa! Hit the jackpot. For the past five days, I have had about 16 oz of pure green juice, once a day. The combo is celery, spinach, kale, cucumber, romaine, parsley. Now, on the sixth day, the Vitamin C and anti-oxidants are added with apple, lemon and ginger for a slightly sweeter taste. I didn’t approach the green supplement to my diet as a cleanse, but as a vitamin boost and charge for my batteries during the cold season. Turns out it feels like the effect of both. Big winning jackpot!
It is my second day. All Greens this morning before the AM classes. Beyond Quality or beQuJuice to be exact. In short, a new LinkedIn friend (who happens to be the pres and chief operating principle of the company) business profile led me to the website which led me to purchase the product. I ordered on Thursday the 24 bottle All Greens pack; six bottles per week for a month supply of nutrient rich, hydraulically pressed vegetables. I met my idea of clean, quick and easy because I don’t have to clean out the Acme juicer filter and am now
