Looking back over the decade, there are just far too many visuals of all the good and amazing things that have unfolded and been revealed.  Suffice to say, it is with great pride that I reminisced through the time, events, people and places of the last ten years.

Pilates4Fitness Movement Space, August 2010

I am simply flabbergasted by the amount of work that has taken place, grateful beyond words, nonetheless.  In a nutshell, I opened and closed two commercial studio spaces; watched, coached and cheered the mother’s of a large (very large) crew of “mamas-in-the-making.”  Really ‘grew up’ as a teacher and found my own voice.  I got past the age of my mother (as she left the earth early) standing upright and learned to love and be loved without rules and expectations of others.

Of course there are lots of things that have been and will continue to be repeated – people, teachers and memorable events.  There are an equal number of things that will be left at the curb.  For example, I came to the realization and acceptance that my feet don’t really like high heels and that an hour spent in a nail salon was as much a waste of my time as it was my money.

I learned to relax and let go, and how to bounce back from injury and found that precision of the movement and action are more valuable than the speed and timing of its completion.  I’ve Immersed myself more in nature and creative arts as a meditative release while conscious of technology’s interplay with it.

The list of people that touched me is deeper and wider than I can possibly enumerate. I am grateful for our continued connection.  I am proud of the exchange of energy with everyone that has permitted me to come into their lives for sharing life and conversation, for Pilates sweat and training, for hammering out the details of something new together and I am grateful for the lessons we uncovered in the process.

Ready for action into the next decade, and I am taking all my lessons – and all my people – with me.  Cheers to #Pilates2020!
