Hell, it seems to take longer to recover from a mosquito bite, an oven burn, and a simple scratch. So when my hip, inner thigh, psoas and fascia wrap around the leg decided to tell me they didn&#8217;t like whatever I unknowingly did or was doing,\u00a0 I noticed.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\">Finding the ease in moving while allowing a <em>healing releas<\/em>e to unfold<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;PATIENCE child.\u00a0 Practice PATIENCE.&#8221;\u00a0 That&#8217;s the voice in my head, reminding me,\u00a0 &#8220;your old self needs more time and maybe more tools of support.&#8221;\u00a0 Nothing was broken, nothing visibly bruised, <em>just tight and over stretched<\/em> at the same time.\u00a0 Which means I overwhelmed a &#8220;push-pull&#8221; oppositional movement and needed time to re-knit and release.<\/p>\n<p>As always, I used my Pilates work (private, semi and individual work) with specific attention to hip mobility and spinal alignment and conscious attention to the psoas, pelvis and breath with all my focused workouts.<br \/>\nI stole this lateral lunge (shown below) from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C8zt1-9N78l\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==\">Ricardo Jaramillo<\/a> and added Eve Gentry&#8217;s Lunge while wrapped in a <a href=\"https:\/\/nooro-us.com\/products\/1x-neuroflex-hip-back-stabilizer-fnuo\">hip\/leg stablizer <\/a>.\u00a0 A couple of times, I added the infrared light wrap, while I worked opening the hip.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 840px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video playsinline data-keepplaying class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-81758-1\" width=\"840\" height=\"840\" poster=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/kmc_20240815_095946.png\" loop autoplay preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/km_20240815-1_1080p_30f_20240815_094110.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/km_20240815-1_1080p_30f_20240815_094110.mp4\">https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/km_20240815-1_1080p_30f_20240815_094110.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image media=&#8221;81767&#8243; caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; media_width_percent=&#8221;100&#8243; media_ratio=&#8221;nine-sixteen&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; shape=&#8221;img-round&#8221; radius=&#8221;lg&#8221; shadow=&#8221;yes&#8221; shadow_weight=&#8221;lg&#8221; shadow_darker=&#8221;yes&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;188026&#8243;][vc_empty_space empty_h=&#8221;2&#8243;][vc_single_image media=&#8221;81768&#8243; caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; media_width_percent=&#8221;100&#8243; media_ratio=&#8221;nine-sixteen&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; shape=&#8221;img-round&#8221; radius=&#8221;lg&#8221; shadow=&#8221;yes&#8221; shadow_weight=&#8221;lg&#8221; shadow_darker=&#8221;yes&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;178422&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;109506&#8243;]<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>I bought a few &#8220;tech gadgets&#8221; to assist me. As you will see below, I have combined them for use.\u00a0 I am wearing a <a href=\"https:\/\/nooro-us.com\/products\/1x-neuroflex-hip-back-stabilizer-fnuo\">hip\/leg stablizer<\/a> in the video above.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-81782\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screen-Shot-2024-08-15-at-10.53.36-AM-167x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screen-Shot-2024-08-15-at-10.53.36-AM-167x300.png 167w, https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screen-Shot-2024-08-15-at-10.53.36-AM-570x1024.png 570w, https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screen-Shot-2024-08-15-at-10.53.36-AM-350x629.png 350w, https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screen-Shot-2024-08-15-at-10.53.36-AM.png 596w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/>Acupuncture, myofascia massage, water resistance therapy (hip circles, bicycles and leg splits) in the pool; steam and sauna heat, and ibuprofen have been the medicine for a good 30-45 days.\u00a0 I never stopped moving, I just made slower, smaller, conscious movements and focused on keeping everything within the frame of my body.<\/p>\n<p>The gadgets kinda make me look like the bionic woman, but in truth I felt like a relic.\u00a0 It&#8217;s as if my body&#8217;s 67 years is calling for the pause, to slow down, pay attention and use these tools.<\/p>\n<p>Every morning, after showering, I rubbed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-minerals.com\/product\/magnesium-lotion\/\">Ancient Minerals magnesium lotion<\/a> into my joints and wrapped my hip with Infrared light. As shown in the video clip (to the right)\u00a0 I found a way to get a pulsing massage on my shoulders and back with the <a href=\"https:\/\/nooro-us.com\/collections\/most-popular\/products\/nooro-relief-bp\">Nooro body massager<\/a>. \u00a0All of these tools and devices have been added to my &#8220;Stuff to Love&#8221; list.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Granted, it&#8217;s only been 30 days, yet the message is clear.\u00a0 Time. Patience. More Ibuprofen.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saturday I had a therapeutic myofascia massage<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday was the much needed &#8220;therapeutic Pilates&#8221; session with Brett; a repeat of a session we did together a month ago.\u00a0 If anyone knows how to work, heal and lengthen the hip and legs is a Master Pilates Teacher that is a former dancer.\u00a0 Brett always keeps me focused and in &#8220;my box&#8221; and I am always grateful the way &#8220;he pulls me back&#8221; to the basics when I would, if left to my own devices, (when I&#8217;m feeling myself) &#8216;add a flourish&#8217; to a movement that wasn&#8217;t necessarily called for or what he asked for.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday was before client sessions, I take advantage of the water therapy treatments in my building, (steam, sauna and bicycles and split stretches in the pool). This is a 1X movement practice that I couldn&#8217;t live without.
