Lifestyle discipline. There is no other way.\u00a0 As she said in an interview &#8220;she abstains from dairy and bread flour. She juggles the carbs, fats and proteins depending on the days of the week.\u00a0 Just a reminder, if you are counting, there are seventy-two days till the end of the year.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7032\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/SmartSelect_20181010-084114_Facebook-136x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"227\" height=\"500\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Angela says she sticks to her workout regimen \u2015 cardio on Monday and Tuesday, strength training on Wednesday and Thursday &#8211; because she pays a trainer \u201c<em>so I will show up \u2019cause I don\u2019t want to waste my money.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/entry\/angela-bassett-discipline-60_us_5bbcac8fe4b0876edaa22d03\">Angela Bassett Shows How Her Discipline Pays Off Big Time At Age 60<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">And finally, she reports, \u201cI don\u2019t do yoga.&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Two things some may say to that, 1) &#8220;who cares what Angela Bassett does with her trainer&#8221; and 2) &#8220;why the heck is this relevant to Pilates?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Might not be relevant if you are not &#8220;on <em>show<\/em> all the time&#8221; or do not consider\u00a0 yourself a &#8220;public persona.&#8221;\u00a0 Yep, it might not be that important to you, if you are a 35+ year old woman and don&#8217;t consider a 60+ year old superstar as role model for you or your lifestyle.\u00a0 It could be difficult to consider a &#8220;maintenance&#8221; schedule such as the one she has listed as optimal or do-able if you are running around after a three-year old every day.<\/p>\n<p>However, from my vantage point, and considering the hundreds of women from 25 to 85 years of age that I have worked with over the years, I have to say, everything the sister said is absolutely relevant and on point.\u00a0 Except the skipping Yoga part.\u00a0 #IJS<\/p>\n<p>I also have a lifestyle discipline focus that has not changed for the past 20 years and is not far from the one outlined by my girl, Angela. It keeps me feeling like a million as well.<\/p>\n<p>If you know and follow me, you know that I cycle outdoors for cardio in the spring thru the fall, I run on the treadmill when it&#8217;s raining, cold or wet and in the winter.
