usually two days after\u00a0students had\u00a0\u00a0a class that uses the Pilates4Fitness FootWheels &#8211; that scream, yell and holler about what they are feeling. \u00a0What do I do? \u00a0Happy Dance!!\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3632\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/20130729_165644_20130730070224713-e1376518299436-300x263.jpg\" alt=\"Pilates4Fitness FootWheels\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/20130729_165644_20130730070224713-e1376518299436-300x263.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/20130729_165644_20130730070224713-e1376518299436.jpg 682w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>It&#8217;s not that I enjoy inflicting pain, although the first introduction to the wheels &#8211; not matter what the movement &#8211; does result in immediate attention to the legs &#8220;the day after&#8221; \u00a0and I have been told I have an evil &#8220;witch-like&#8221; giggle while teaching\u00a0from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>Private session students\u00a0report back with similar observations with our use of the<a title=\"It\u2019s All About The Angles\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/its-all-about-the-angles\/\"> Pilates Orbit<\/a>. \u00a0Group Class students rave about the use of the FootWheels in all the toning classes and now in the TRX sessions, as I occasionally &#8220;spice up&#8221; our work with the FootWheels.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Muy Caliente!<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The wheels were introduced to the studio a little less than 9 months ago and were created to support a group class and provide the same functionality that the Balanced Body <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pilatestreemagazine.com\/circular-movements-to-re-shape-the-derierre\/\">Pilates Orbit<\/a> provides to my private and semi-private sessions. \u00a0I simply needed a tool that was a little more compact and fluid for a small group setting, facilitating open, gracious engaging movement in a small space.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4724\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4724\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-21-at-9.53.42-PM.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4724\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-21-at-9.53.42-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2014-04-21 at 9.53.42 PM\" width=\"400\" height=\"59\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-21-at-9.53.42-PM.png 818w, https:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-21-at-9.53.42-PM-300x44.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4724\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Text Message: <b>CLICK TO EXPAND and READ<\/b><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Of course, every movement made with the wheels is taken from a Pilates sequence of exercises. \u00a0The exercise that is causing the most stir and heat lately, are\u00a0Pelvic Lift and Frogs and Tendon Stretch.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3655\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3655\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3655\" style=\"background-color: #f3f3f3; text-align: center; font-size: 13px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/FootWheels_Reverse-Plank--e1377123756404.jpg\" alt=\"FootWheels Reverse Plank\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3655\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FootWheels Reverse Plank<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Pelvic Lift<\/strong><\/span> is a bridge on the wheels very much like the sequence used on the reformer. \u00a0The movemet targets the hamstrings and glutes. \u00a0By &#8220;hugging the wheels&#8221; together, students work and strengthen the inner thigh, core, hamstrings. \u00a0Takes a little stamina and endurance,\u00a0builds a lot of heat in the body and creates a few beads of sweat on the brow.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Frogs<\/strong><\/span> on the wheels is absolutely perfect for the external rotators, back of the inner thigh and hamstrings. \u00a0A \u00a0little more fire is added to the sequence by bridging the pelvis thru the sequence. \u00a0It is this particular move that has my inbox overloaded with yelps<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3651\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3651\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3651\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pilates4fitness.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/20130821_094828-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"FootWheels Reverse Plank\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3651\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FootWheels Reverse Plank<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Tendon Stretch<\/strong><\/span> (or Reverse Plank) on the FootWheels is one of my favorites for Beginners seeking to build core strength, while working the triceps and legs. \u00a0It&#8217;s a much more fluid \u00a0movement on the FootWheels and\u00a0Orbit (as well as the TRX), than it is on the\u00a0Wunda Chair or Reformer. \u00a0The later two work the same muscles groups although in a \u00a0<em>vertically-aligned<\/em> movement vs the horizontal alignment\u00a0used with the wheels. \u00a0Gravity is always pulling us down and Pilates equipment, tools and exercise teach the body to fight gravity and &#8220;lift in, up and out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Group Classes Love the Wheels!<\/h3>\n<p>So we are using the FootWheels with greater regularity in all the toning classes on the schedule and occasionally with the TRX classes. \u00a0In fact, I have been known on occasion to use the wheels with my Intermediate Mat students for Swan or Mermaid!<\/p>\n<p>In all instances, a Pilates-trained core is at the center of the work.<\/p>\n<p>[su_button url=&#8221;https:\/\/clients.mindbodyonline.com\/ASP\/home.asp?studioid=29926&#8243;
