I am actually shocked to write that I have been orchestrating this hike along the Palisades cliffs for thirteen years.  I think my mother would be proud that I have actually started a tradition and stuck with it!

In honest #TruthSpeak, this walk along the Palisades began as a “scream fest” when George Bush Jr. won (or should I say “stole” FL) the election over Al Gore.  Interestingly, this year we all kinda want to scream again.

That year, there were only three of us.  I think we took the “walk in the woods” just to let off steam after the election.  We did through our hands up in the air and scream at the top of our lungs alongs the cliffs.

That was the plan.  That was the intention.

Three years later, I moved the hike to the Sunday following Thanksgiving and we stopped the screaming from the cliffs and started being “thankful” for each other and life we found ourselves living.

I know I have those pictures somewhere, from the first hike.  Although,  far too many more images have been taken in  between the years.  I know the people that were involved – June and Monica of Teaneck – whom I lost touch, yet I am glad I kept the walk going.

So, if you are inclined to walk with like-minded people, feel free to join me.

The hike always features fall color, clear air, delightful views with laughter, camaraderie and friends.
