TRX and Pilates Movement
Our real life activities require physiological diversity. We move forward, backward, side to side, and diagonally. We bend, sit, lie down, stand up, rotate, extend, contract, lift, push and pull our way through every day. To accomplish all of these actions we need to be functionally fit. The TRX system dramatically improves functional fitness and is designed to be used by anyone, anywhere. The workout offers an unmatched variety of exercises for the whole body and it is completely adaptable to any fitness level.
The TRX training system has an innovative design that uses gravity and your own body weight to target core muscles, improve coordination and increase range of motion. The exercises are performed using a suspension system which produces varying degrees of instability during the workout. The suspension effect forces the use of the core muscles to stabilize the body while executing the movement.
The level of resistance and instability is quickly and easily adjustable by repositioning the angle of the body

"AMAZING work out! Raffaella DeRosa |
Using both Pilates principles of centering, control, concentration and the traditional exercises in tandem with the TRX Suspension straps is almost like bringing Joseph Pilates together with a Navy Seal!!
Every TRX group class on the schedule incorporates traditional Pilates moves utilizing a non-traditional means! Executing a Pilates move with your lower body slightly suspended from the mat helps our students see, feel and appreciate how much your core control comes into play! The powerhouse has to work extra hard to keep you in proper form.
Fun and challenging! A new spin on a favorite classic. First-timers to the TRX may feel best with the TRX Basic Mat.
TRX Basic Learn the exercises, progressions and transitions, use and manipulation of the equipment. Participants all do the same exercise, but at their own pace and level of intensity.
As with all TRX group training programs, Basic includes the Pilates warmup with the Hundreds and moves from the floor using both upper and lower body to a standing position with full integration and reliance of the core for postural strength and stability.
